Quarry Falls

Quarry Falls, 2009

charcoal on paper, 24 " x 18"

After finishing a painting of Quarry Falls, I started thinking of the big forms of rocks and water and realized that I needed to make something in black and white, with stark contrasts, to get the idea of the weight and power of those shapes. A large charcoal drawing was the perfect format for this.
