Dancing Post Oak

Dancing Post Oak, 2006

pencil on paper, 13" x 17"

I have been watching this neat Post Oak for a while on my drives around the area and finally settled on drawing the tree after its leaves finally fell. I see so many great trees with so much movement or strength, grace or expression that I want to draw them all. I keep a mental file on these trees, where they are and what time of day or year suits my work the best, and have started to draw each one lately.
