While on a walk in the woods across from my house I saw a bright spot ahead. A tree had fallen across the fence to the neighboring cow pasture and into the woods long ago but the woods hadn't closed the gap yet. The sunlight poured through the opening and made a dramatic brightness in an otherwise dark place.
