This is my third attempt at painting this image. I started in 2002, when I painted the view in acrylics, then repainted it in 2005 in oil. I used the same image, painting directly over the old painting in a more current style. It is a view of the creek in Cataloochee Cove, NC in the early morning when the sun was raking across the water through the trees on the banks. I've always loved this spot and have drawn it on a number of visits. Who knows how many times I may repaint this canvas?
