Twisted Oak, 2005
oil pastel, 13" x 16"
This is a wonderful group of trees which I fully intend to keep working on until I exhaust myself of them. There are several together on a corner of a country road and a state highway and they all have great shapes that work off of each other. I noticed the late morning sun lighting up this one twisting branch and knew I needed to work on that first. I parked by the side of the road and set up my easel to work right then and there.
