High Water on the Satilla River

High Water on the Satilla River, 2007

oil pastel on paper, 16" x 24"

I went on a canoe trip down the Satilla River recently and saw the water up into the woods creating so many fascinating views of tree trunks reflecting in the black water. The sun came out intermittently as the rain clouds grew making it both bright sunlight and ominous at the same time.
