This was the first oil pastel I did while on Monhegan Island. It was a place I had seen the day before and decided it would be the place I would start the next morning. It was an easy, though very wet, walk to get there and I was able to clamber down the rocks to get quite a ways out toward the water. The weather had improved enough to allow me to work without worrying too much about rain by then.
