Evening

Evening, 2006

oil pastel, 18" x 18"

After a rain is a great time for looking at sunsets and this day was no exception. The colors were alive down near the horizon and the clouds breaking up overhead were circled by the evening light. I rushed into the studio to get my sketchbook and drew while the light lasted making notes about specific colors and they faded away. I got out some paper and began this immediately afterward.
