Dark Still Pool, 2012
oil pastel, 15" x 12"
I have noticed that when looking through the hundreds of photographs I've taken after a trip I begin to see patterns. My last trip to the Smoky Mountains seemed to have inspired me to look for still waters with rocks scattered here and there. Mostly shady spots, perhaps because it was warming into summer, drew me in. This is the first such spot from this batch of drawings and photos, a still, reflective space that gave such a feeling of peace.
